You know that part in 1 Timothy where Paul tells us that, of all the sinners Jesus came to save, he was the worst? Well, there is an area of my life where I am absolutely the worst.
Confrontation.
I let things build until I am absolutely so crazy mad/frustrated that I either pull away from the other person or make myself say something and it comes out totally wrong. I am working on this and have enlisted some help from two of my favorite coauthors- Henry Cloud and John Townsend. They wrote a book called, "How to Have That Difficult Conversation You've Been Avoiding". Wow. It has already reconfirmed in me how important it is to go right to the person toward whom you hold resentment and let them know what is bothering you. It is not only the "right" thing to do, it really is the best thing to do if you really want to love someone and remain in good fellowship with them. Important relationships are worth it.
