I have been attending The Church at Brookhills since October. I swore I wouldn't do it. (Not thinking that BH would be my cup of tea....) But, I did...and I have never been to another church since. The Lord has used the people of Brookhills in a way that has challenged and championed me in a new and exciting way. The people there have encouraged me to look at ALL things through the lens of the Gospel and how it might be advanced in all circumstances. (So much so that I was combing through my lice-treated-hair the other night thinking, "How could the Lord use this lice for His kingdom?" Sounds wild, but lice totally reminds me of the fall.....and how it makes me LONG for Heaven!)
The missions pastor at our church (pictured above) was diagnosed with a brain tumor this week. He is in his mid-thirties with three young, precious children. He and his wife have been missionaries for years in the Middle East. On all accounts, they have been faithful to the Lord. When we prayed for him on Sunday, he simply said, "I have been praying for the Lord to allow me more opportunities to share the Gospel each week. This is not the road I would have chosen, but I am excited to see how He uses this for His glory."
WHAT? Seriously? Yes. All things through His lens....for His gospel.
I am challenged and in awe of what God might do with my life, if yielded in such a way to His calling. More on that soon.
Until then, check out the blog I am beginning to use to document the missions trip I am going on this summer! I can't wait to get back to Africa!
