Ree and me.

I know most of you probably have heard of "The Pioneer Woman" by now. If not, check her out here.

She makes lots of yummy things, including her own Chex Mix. I love Gardetto's mix, Chex mix, trail mix, etc. but have never made my own until this morning. Yum!

Not only is it much less salty (although it still has plenty of sodium, believe me!) it tastes better, as well. Make a big batch and add your favorite snacks to personalize it!

Here is the recipe:

Pioneer Woman Chex Mix

  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Pretzel Sticks
  • 2 cups Mixed Nuts
  • 1 stick (to 1 1/2 Sticks) Butter)
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 6 dashes (to 12 Dashes) Tabasco Sauce
  • 3 cloves (to 5) Garlic, Mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Onion Powder

Preparation Instructions

Dump cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add in pretzel sticks and nuts.

In a microwave-safe bowl, add remaining ingredients and microwave until butter is melted. Stir together and toss into a cereal mixture, stirring as you go.

Transfer mix onto one or two baking sheets, and bake in a 250-degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.

Enjoy!

  1. MMMmmmm. One of my favorite things to make! I actually like it a bit overcooked. I may just be making some of this before Thursday. Sorry I wasn't able to call you back yesterday. My mom spent the day over here and then my dad came by. By the time they left it was bedtime for Molly and then dinner. I'll call you soon!
