SOAP.

If you think I am about rant about more toxic ingredients, I am not. (That post is coming later this week!) This is about a method of Bible study that I am using this summer. It comes from a book called "The Divine Mentor" by Wayne Cordeiro. Here's how it works:

1. S (Scripture reading) Read through any scripture you might be studying and list in your journal the reference of what you have read.

2. O (Observation) Journal about what you noticed about this particular scripture.

3. A (Application) Journal about how you might apply the truths you have read about to your life.

4. P (Prayer) Pray that the Lord will continue to give you the discipline to apply what you have learned through the reading of His Word.

I hope this method might be a fun new way for you walk through and reflect on what you are reading!

  1. We do the same thing with our Elementary program at church. Ours is R.O.A.D (Read, Observe, Apply, Depend). I always learn so much from the Elementary curriculum!!

  2. Oh, that's another good one!! Anything that can break down Scripture reading is great for me! I love that you and Matt are so involved with the kids at your church....you're awesome.
