SLS

The terms 'sodium laureth sulfate" "ammonia lauryl sulfate" and "sodium lauryl sulfate" are probably familiar to you. They are on most shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap ingredient listings because it is the chemical that makes soap lather really well. It is also deemed to be harmful by many sources!

Here are a few links to more information if you are interested:

While I don't know the exact amounts of SLS in my old shampoos (as the only quantifiable information is what can be assumed through the order of ingredients) I don't see any redeeming qualities about this chemical. I am choosing to steer clear.

You can find sulfate-free shampoos at your local Trader Joe's or Whole Foods....Aveda, Rusk and Bed Head have sulfate-free shampoos, as well. It's not too hard to find them, you just have to be aware and check the ingredients.
