Irish Brown Bread

A few years back, my family took the trip of a lifetime. We went to Ireland to meet some of our relatives that we had never met. We went to the house where my Great Great Grandfather (and many of his descendants) were born and raised, toured castles, quaint little towns and incredible golf courses. We had a very rich experience and it will undoubtedly be one of my most treasured family vacations.

Being a picky selective eater, I found it very difficult to choose a meal in Ireland. While the Irish are not known for their cuisine (unless you count cuisine of the liquid variety) their brown soda bread was a staple for me! I have been trying recipes to recreate the experience for a few years and stumbled upon a great one this week! If you like a very easy and hearty whole wheat bread, give this a try! No kneading involved....that's the best part!
