Did you know? Part II

Many shaving creams boast about their product's infusion of lanolin to moisturize skin. Do you actually know what lanolin is? What if I were to tell you it was sheep fat? Yep. That's right...sheep fat! It's a wonder that Skintimate doesn't market that feature. "Brand new lavender scented, sheep-fat infused shaving cream!" Doesn't quite have the buyer in mind, does it?

(This is not for the faint of heart)

Dead sheep parts are boiled until their fat rises to the top. It is skimmed off the top and used as a moisturizer/filler in many inexpensive beauty products- almost like a filler. You will see "lanolin" written in the ingredient list in almost all drug store lipsticks and shaving creams. I want to encourage you to avoid these products as, again, lanolin is not something that you ought to allow onto your skin and, thus, into your blood stream.
Just a thought.

There are many products out there that might cost a bit more, but use plant extracts and other moisturizing ingredients that are more appropriate for absorption into human skin. It's worth it.
