I am very klutzy. I am always spilling something or doing something that causes me to look stupid. Usually in public.
This time, I was wearing a brand new sundress from J. Crew. I had been watching it online for a while, and when it went on sale, I jumped on it and bought it! It was (keyword was) an awesome melon color and I wore it one time.
The next time I put it on, I decided to do a quick bathroom clean-up with some Soft Scrub. WITH BLEACH. We all know where this story is heading.....

So....I decided to try a little RIT dye. I found a bottle of "Scarlet" colored dye and went to town. I was thrilled to see that the whole garment is now just a bit darker, and more importantly, all ONE color!See below!
I will now be using this method for all of my geeky needs. All spills, bleach-outs, etc. 
I love Rit Dye...just be sure to hand wash the dress next time or all of your other clothes will be scarlet!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the dye works great for faded out jeans...mix half of the black color with half of the denim color and wa-la a dark rinse.
